TBU Collective Bargaining Committee
Contract Information
Collective Agreement
|
 | The Collective Agreement is negotiated between the District 11
Teachers' Bargaining Unit and the Thames Valley District School Board.
It outlines all of the details of the salary, benefits and working
conditions under which members of the bargaining unit will work. |
 | It is critical that members know and understand the collective
agreement. If you think that part of the collective agreement has been
violated, contact your Branch President or the District Office
immediately. Where the collective agreement has been violated, the
District Office will intervene to try to correct it or, if necessary,
launch a Grievance to try to have the situation remedied. |
 | This is a confidential document. There should be five copies
at each Branch. It is also accessible by going to the TVDSB
website, clicking on "My Employee Portal" and then
"View My Collective Agreement". |

|
 | Due to timelines, information regarding secondary reciprocal
transfers is noted below:
 | As per Article 31, secondary teachers who wish to be
considered for a reciprocal transfer with a teacher in
another school in either panel for September 1, 2006, are to
complete the "Secondary Reciprocal
Transfer Request" form and submit it to Cynthia Bain,
Operations Services, CEC South by fax [(519) (633-4276)],
courier, or by hand. This form can be found at
the board's Employee
Portal under
Electronic Forms - Operations. The deadline for receipt of these
signed forms is February 15, 2006. If using the
Board's courier, it is your responsibility to ensure that
the forms arrive at CEC South within the stated time frames. |
 | The system list of all teachers requesting a reciprocal
transfer shall be posted in all secondary schools and
workplaces by March 1st. The purpose of this System
Reciprocal Transfer List is to allow any teacher, whether
that teacher's name is on the list or not, to contact a
teacher whose name is on the list to discuss the feasibility of a reciprocal
transfer in accordance with Article 31.6. |
 | Questions may be directed to Don Blair at 633-8845 or
Cynthia Bain at 633-3582. |

|
 |
 | RRSP (Registered Retirement Savings Plan) accounts are set up for
eligible teachers, in accordance with Article 13 of the Teachers'
Bargaining Unit Collective
Agreement, with the exception of those teachers from the former Elgin
County Board of Education who have contributions, as
determined by the LTSIP Committee, made to their LTSIP
accounts instead. |
 | The LTSIP (Long Term Service Incentive Plan) plan only applies to teachers who were hired by the
former Elgin County Board of Education between September 1, 1977 and
August 31, 1998. (Those hired previous to September 1, 1977 are eligible
for a Retirement Gratuity. Those hired after August 31, 1998 are part of
the TVDSB RRSP Plan.) |
