2006 Grade 10 Citizenship Awards Nominations Now Open

By Colleen Canon, Federation Services Office

The OSSTF Grade 10 Citizenship Award is presented annually to one Grade 10 student in each high school in District 11-Thames Valley.

The award recipient is chosen from students presently completing Grade 10, by a school committee consisting of the Branch President (or his/her designate), the Branch Awards Committee Rep (if the Branch has one), and at least one other teacher. The committee may also have student rep(s) if desired. Nominations for the 2006 Grade 10 Citizenship Award are underway now. Click here for the Nomination Information.

The student shall be chosen based upon the following criteria:

  1. The nominee is Grade 10 student who contributes to the quality of life in the school unit (not necessarily a leader).
  2. The nominee shows concern and consideration for others without regard for personal recognition.

The students will be presented with their awards at a reception to which they may bring two guests. The Awards Representative at each school is also invited to attend. The student receives an Award Certificate, letters of congratulations, a memento Canadian coin set and a copy of the script read acknowledging their contributions to their school and community.

For more information, contact Chair Evelyn Daley (IDCI, 485-1200), or Colleen Canon.
