District Priorities for 2006-2007
Passed at the District Annual General Meeting
The 2006-2007 District Priorities, derived from the 2006-2007 Provincial Action Plan, were passed at the District Annual Meeting on May 25, 2006.

District Priority #1: Connect With The Members (Membership Involvement)

� Welcome New Members session
� OSSTF workshops on identified important issues
� promote involvement in OSSTF
� provide more opportunities for active involvement (AMPA, CBC, etc.)
� continue to monitor the Government (Provincial/Municipal/Federal)
� continue to monitor the School Board(s)
� election readiness:

� promoting the OSSTF education platform
� focusing on the election of municipal leaders and school trustees
� supporting alliances and coalitions
� encouraging involvement with provincial political parties

District Priority #2: Raise Awareness (OSSTF Membership Training)

� focused Union education and training
� enhanced Workplace Rep. Training
� New Member Training
� Staffing Committee Training
� District, as well as Regional training
� investigate ways to communicate with the membership more effectively
