District Priorities for 2006-2007
Passed at the District Annual General Meeting
The 2006-2007 District Priorities, derived from the 2006-2007 Provincial Action Plan, were passed at the District Annual Meeting on May 25, 2006.

District Priority #1: Connect With The Members (Membership Involvement)

• Welcome New Members session
• OSSTF workshops on identified important issues
• promote involvement in OSSTF
• provide more opportunities for active involvement (AMPA, CBC, etc.)
• continue to monitor the Government (Provincial/Municipal/Federal)
• continue to monitor the School Board(s)
• election readiness:

• promoting the OSSTF education platform
• focusing on the election of municipal leaders and school trustees
• supporting alliances and coalitions
• encouraging involvement with provincial political parties

District Priority #2: Raise Awareness (OSSTF Membership Training)

• focused Union education and training
• enhanced Workplace Rep. Training
• New Member Training
• Staffing Committee Training
• District, as well as Regional training
• investigate ways to communicate with the membership more effectively
