CEI Constitution
and Bylaws
|
 | The Constitution contains the fundamental principles governing the
Bargaining Unit. It fits together with the District Constitution
and the Provincial Constitution, but deals particularly with the
structure and business of the Bargaining Unit. |
 | The CEI Constitution Committee oversees the structure of
the Constitution and makes recommendations for its revision to
General Members' meetings. |

Constitution. |
|
|
 | The Collective Agreement is negotiated between the District 11
Continuing Education Instructors' Bargaining Unit and the Thames Valley District School
Board. It outlines all of the details of the salary, benefits
and working conditions under which members of the Bargaining
Unit will work. |
 | It is critical that members know and understand the collective
agreement. If you think that part of the collective agreement
has been violated, contact Barb
O'Brien or the District
Office immediately. Where the collective agreement has been
violated, the District Office will intervene to try to correct it
or, if necessary, launch a Grievance to try to have the
situation remedied. |
 | This is a confidential document. It is also accessible by going to the
TVDSB
website, clicking on "My Employee Portal" and then
"View My Collective Agreement". |
|
Employment Insurance Information
|
 | In Employment Insurance Information, you will find links to
information about Employment Insurance benefits, including Pregnancy leave
and Compassionate Care leave. |
|
|
 | This pamphlet explains what to do if you are assaulted or if
you are charged with an assault or criminal charge. |
|
|
 | Continuing Education Instructors who have a College of
Teachers "Certificate of Qualifications" may apply for
an OSSTF Certification Rating Statement. If you are considering
applying for a job in the secondary panel, you would be well
advised to do this now rather than after you obtain a job in the
secondary panel because it can take 8 to 10 weeks to process the
application, and until you get it, you will be paid at the
lowest pay category. Every Teacher in a public secondary school must have an OSSTF
Certification Rating Statement. |
 | District 11 has produced a pamphlet for Members with some
general information about Certification Rating
Statements. Questions about Certification Rating Statements
may be directed to the Provincial Office (1-800-267-7867) |
 | The provincial OSSTF website has a section entirely devoted to
OSSTF Certification. The application form and instructions for
filling it in can be found there. |
