District / Teachers' Bargaining Unit President: Wendy Anes Hirschegger

The Federation Services Officers, our Administrative Assistant Laurie Lafraniere and I would all like to extend our best wishes to you for this holiday season. We hope that you will have a relaxing and family-filled break.

We would also like to thank all of you for all of the hard work that you do in your jobs. The strength of OSSTF is in its membership and so we thank you for your support and, if you haven't already become involved in some aspect of your bargaining unit or the district, we encourage you to think about doing so in the new year. We have many active committees and we would welcome increased participation from among the members.  Meetings are generally held "after school" at the District Office and include refreshments, and committee members may claim "out of the way" mileage when they attend the meetings.

Professional Student Services Personnel Bargaining Unit:

Dear OSSTF and PSSP members:

On behalf of the PSSP executive, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful, relaxing holiday season and a well-deserved break from our daily round of work.

Looking forward to the New Year, we will be gathering ideas for our next round of negotiations with the TVDSB, so if you have any ideas with regard to improving our contract, please get in touch with your job class representative, other PSSP executive member, or myself. I will be visiting as many of your staff meetings as possible in the New Year, and I look forward to meeting you then.

I would like to remind everyone to take care of your safety as we continue on into the winter season. In inclement weather, and particularly when school buses are delayed or cancelled, remember, we are encouraged to not risk life and limb by travelling on unsafe roads to our normal destinations. After notifying those you would normally work with, I trust everyone will work at the nearest safe destination, including home. You are also strongly encouraged to report any "slip and fall" type accidents occurring in the course of your work, via the accident reports available at each worksite. Even if you are not injured.

If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me. I am usually in OSSTF's offices Wednesday mornings (659-6588), or I can be reached during the rest of the week at 452-2948.

Have a wonderful holiday!
