Sanyo DVC-2500

This Sanyo DVC-2500 is a combination DVD & VHS unit which sells at Costco for $300. CDN, however I am not very impressed with unit.

All DVD black below 7.5 IRE is clipped in NTSC (very bad).
DVD colors are oversaturated (used calibrated SMPTE bars to a vectorscope).
Will not play PAL DVDs.
Won't read some slightly defective DVDs, whether from burning or authoring defects.
Won't play VCD (Video CD).
Reads only 14 characters on MP3 files.
Doesn't come with a Y/C (S-video) cable.
No DVD menu buttons on front of unit, so if you misplace the remote, you're sunk.
