This is a news announcement that we currently are developing a
revolutionary Lithium-ion (Li-ion) rechargeable battery belt for
video, television & other uses with the following features:
The total power will be about 140 Watt/hours.
That is 9.6 Amp/hours (9,600 mAh) at a nominal Voltage of
14.6 Volts. |
| There will probably be a 3 position switch so users can select
12, 13.2 & 14.4 Volt levels depending on the application
needs. |
| The maximum continuous discharge Amperage should be about
20 Amps (about 260 Watts). |
| The weight of batteries, case & belt should be around
4.4 pounds (2 kilograms). |
| This would use a Lithium-ion (Li-ion) chemistry which actually
has no lithium in it & the battery has INTRINSICALLY SAFE
technology (EN50020) built in so that it is certified to be
safe for transportation. This built-in redundant safety protection
eliminates the concerns of previous Li-ion chemistry batteries. |
| The life cycle will be far greater than either NiMH or NiCad
chemistry, this Li-ion battery will still have over 70% of rated
capacity after 850 cycles. |
| It will operate in extreme temperature environments –
50°C to + 60°C (-58°F to 140°F) |
| It will turn itself off if Voltage drops below 10 Volts to
prevent over discharge. |
| Extremely low self discharge rate (stays close to full charge
for months). |
| Maintenance-free, no memory effect. |
| Comes with smart fast charger that can charge as fast as 2-3
hours. |
| Selling price to be under $900. CDN including battery belt
& separate fast charger. |
