London Ontario business comments
Beth Leaper is a family law lawyer operating "Leaper
Law" based in London Ontario, dealing in divorce, separation
agreements, property division, etc. She claims to practice"collaborative
law", which is a joke in my opinion, based on my dealings
with her as my Ex's lawyer. It's only potentially collaborative
if you spend lots of money to hire a lawyer to collaborate with
Beth Leaper (keeping the lawyers employed), but if you represent
yourself, expect a lack of collaboration (no willingness to negotiate).
I am currently doing my "due diligence" legal investigation
to determine if there is sufficient evidence to have her charged
with criminal fraud or harassment. If you have information that
you'd like to share with me regarding your experiences with her
legal services, please contact me. Beth Leaper & her secretary Laura South are quite the pieces of work in my opinion & that of several other people who have also provided documentation to me of their experiences.

Western Auto Service is 6 bay auto garage in the
north west corner of London Ontario at 1920 Hyde Park Road (just
south of Fanshawe Park Road) that is owned & operated by Craig
Jesson, phone (519) 472-8641 or (519) 471-0380. I've had my cars
repaired here for several years & I was initially quite pleased with the
overall treatment I've received over the years. I thought they were much more honest
service than most auto repair centers I've dealt with, but I discovered that some of his employees were not so honest in a few instances. They were trying to find an exhaust clog on my car & they removed the honeycomb catalytic converter contents but didn't tell me. Consequently they destroyed a perfectly good converter since it wasn't the problem & I had to buy a new one to pass the pollution test the following year. Finding an
honest mechanic seems to be a rare thing these days. Just when you think you've found one they severely disappoint you.
Canadian Paralegal Consultants was a small paralegal
firm run by Ed Finlan in London Ontario Canada.
I paid him to file a simple divorce for me & over 5 months later
I still have no useable results. Paperwork has been filled out incorrectly
by him, he doesn't take all measures to get papers served, he routinely
lies to me & it has just been a series of excuses & stalling
tactics. He eventually does a wee bit of the work so he can say
he's operating in good faith & then it stalls out again. Inquiries
I have made with the local police, Family Court, a couple lawyers
& the Better Business Bureau all indicate that there is serious
cause for concern by doing business with this man or his company.
According to the BBB, he is currently facing at least 16 charges
against him & has an unsatisfactory rating. Some creditors have
also been chasing him for money. Check it out for yourself, or for
further information please contact me. February 5/2007.
Update March 22/2007 Ed Finlan yesterday was convicted of a bunch
more fraud charges, read about it in the London
Free Press .
Contact me for an email of the full article.
Update Dec. 19/2010: London Police informed me that Ed Finlan was convicted of roughly 30 theft & fraud related charges & spent time in Milhaven Federal Penitentiary & is now out of prison as of about mid 2010. He may now be working as a "collections manager" in the Toronto area. I've received at least one email suggesting that he may still be conducting fraud.

Kokomo's is a sun tanning store in London (near
Wonderland & Oxford) that sells blocks of sun tanning time.
Unfortunately it's based on their standard (regular) booth which
they only have one of. They have several other large sun tanning
booths, but they want to charge you extra on top of your minutes
to go in those booths. In my opinion, Kokomo's effectively nickel
& dimes you for extra money unless you are able to book time
in their only standard booth. You get extra value for that extra
money because those booths are stronger, but it's annoying to find
out that you often have to pay more when you already purchased a
block of time. I've tried other tan places that were considerably
more convenient & less annoying than this one because you could
walk in most times without an appointment & not have to wait
long for a standard booth at no extra charge.
