Additional information on Soneil 1205SR charger

- This charger can get quite hot when on continuously (45 minutes or more), so please ensure that the charger case temperature is safe for your application. Do not use in an application where impaired people without temperature sense, or children might handle the charger. In a room temperature of 78 F (25.5 C), the top of the case can get up to 130.9 F (54.9 C) or more & the bottom of the case can get up to 141.0 F (60.5 C) or more. The bottom can cause a 3rd degree burn on adult skin in 5 seconds, or a 1st degree burn (less severe) in less time. Please ensure adequate ventilation of charger.

- This charger is adjustable by a trained technician. Should you experience venting of your battery (gassing), the maximum cut off Voltage can be lowered. Current can be adjusted too to suit smaller batteries, or to slightly reduce heat of charger. My tests indicate that Amperage is slightly higher than the rated 2.5 Amps, coming in at about 2.75 Amps.

- The Soneil supplied PDF brochure is incorrect regarding the green light. When the constant current bulk charge (stage 2) orange light goes out & the green light comes on, it does not indicate that charging is complete, it indicates that the charger has switched from the constant current bulk charge (stage 2), to the current reduction (stage 3) & float (stage 4) which top up the battery more slowly & safely. If you desire a full charge, leave the charger connected to the battery for at least two hours after the green light comes on.

- The Soneil 1205SR charger does an excellent job of fully charging a lead acid battery to it's 100% charge level, which helps keep it at a higher Voltage & readiness state, BUT it is imperative to leave it on charge until it has dropped down to it's 13.8 Volt float level if you want the battery to be 100% charged. Please also ensure that the battery has plenty of ventilation.
