Physiotherapy Assessment, Treatment and Rehabilitation Services

Submitted by Nancy McDougall, Federation Services Officer

The Thames Valley District School Board offers physiotherapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services for employees who have been injured. The Spine and Joint Acute Injury & Rehabilitation Centre and Body Mechanics Physiotherapy have been chosen as independent providers for this off-site program. Both providers have several clinics throughout the valley and can serve the needs of Board employees.

Services may be provided to employees who have experienced injuries that are either occupational or non-occupational in nature and who may benefit from treatment. The service is provided at no cost to employees. While participation is not mandatory for employees, they will be encouraged to receive treatment from one of the Board’s service providers. Services can be accessed by calling the Board’s Disability Management Officers and can generally be arranged within forty-eight hours following contact. Karen Erskine (452-2208) and Larry Norton (452-8999) are the Disability Management Officers for non-occupational injuries and Linda Purser (452-2138) is the Disability Management Officer for occupational injuries. Early intervention is extremely important when treating injuries successfully.

For more information, please call the Board’s Disability Management Officers.
