Two Provincial Winners for
District 11
|
District 11 is pleased to announce that we have two provincial winners in
the Marion Drysdale Awards competition. Nancy Taylor, a student at Woodstock
and District Developmental Services, has won the Prose or Poetry Category 6
- Adult Learner for her essay titled “Why Can’t I Learn”. Stephen Benaway
from A.B. Lucas Secondary School is the other provincial winner. His essay
entitled “Through My Father’s Eyes” was voted top in the Prose or Poetry
Category 3 - Grade 11 or 12 University. Each of these winners will receive a
$300 cheque and a trip to Toronto for the awards presentation ceremony at
the OSSTF Annual Meeting of the Provincial Assembly on Monday, March 14,
2005.
Congratulations to our Provincial Marion Drysdale winners and to their
teachers - Dianne Ward (Woodstock DDS) and Peter Luscombe (Lucas). Both of
these exceptional educators are widely recognized and respected for their
commitment to students, and we are proud to call them District 11 members.
This is the second year in a row that one of Dianne's students has been a
provincial winner, and in 2003, she had a regional winner.
