Ontario Health Coalition Activities

Provincial OSSTF Communication

OSSTF continues to support the work done by the Ontario Health Coalition (OHC) to maintain our publicly-funded, publicly administered health care system. We share their concern over the government’s use of the Public, Private, Partnership model (P3's) in redeveloping existing hospitals and building new ones both because of its direct implications for the future of our public health care system, and because of the precedent this sets for the other public infrastructure development.

Here is a list of Ontario Health Coalition activities in February and March in or close to Thames Valley:

London – Thursday, February 24th, 7 - 9:30 p.m.
Emergency Townhall Meeting on Hospital Cuts
All area MPPs & hospital CEOs have been invited to speak & answer questions.
Several have confirmed to date.
Location: Museum London Lecture Hall

Kitchener-Waterloo – Wednesday, March 2nd, 7:30 p.m.
Critical Condition: Making Sense of Costs and Cuts in Healthcare
Featuring: Jack Layton, MP, Leader NDP
Inaugural meeting of the new Waterloo Region Health Coalition & beginning of local strategy
Location: Howard Johnson Hotel, Conestoga Room, 1333 Weber St. East, Kitchener

Windsor – Saturday, March 19, 10 a.m.
Health Action Assembly
Local responses & strategy will be set on the key health care issues.

District 11 members are encouraged to attend if possible.
