OSSTF District 11-Thames Valley is proud to announce our unanimous support and endorsement for Dave Russell in his candidacy for OTF Governor.

As a dedicated, full-time Federation Services Officer at the District Office, Dave provides direction and leadership for a variety of District initiatives including Finance, Pension & Benefits, Secondary Staffing, Health & Safety, Political Action and LTD. He also works collaboratively on numerous Board committees including a task force working to reduce bullying and harassment in our schools.

Dave's work background, prior to becoming an educator, gives him the knowledge and understanding needed for complex issues such as our pension plan. His experience as an accountant and as a trust administrator makes him well suited to serve our members' needs as a confident and determined OSSTF voice at the OTF table.

He realizes that leadership first means active listening and understanding of the issues affecting all OSSTF members. Dave strengthens relationships with our education partners by working cooperatively with them in a spirit of mutual respect. Recently, Dave attended a week long CLC Winter School where he was an active participant, but also spent the time necessary to understand the issues facing others within the Canadian labour movement. Dave is decisive and maintains a balanced approach working with others by combining his extensive OSSTF commitments with community activities including coaching and managing his sons' competitive hockey teams.
