Survey Questions

1. What strategies would you recommend to attract and keep good teachers and educational workers in Thames Valley?

2. The Rozanski report made recommendations to the government to reinvest in and strengthen public education. What strategies will you use to ensure that the full implementation of those recommendations remains a priority?

3. What is your position on the closure of any of the secondary schools in the accommodation studies currently before the board?

4. What steps would you take to provide adequate services, in terms of both support staff and programs, to special needs students?

5. As a trustee, you need to be ready to work with parents and teachers in the best interests of public education. What role do you feel School Councils should have at the secondary school level?

6. Prior to 1996, adult education was fully funded by the provincial government. In 1996, the government cut the funding for adult education by about 70% which drastically reduced the kind of education that can be provided to these students. What will you do, both locally and provincially, to advocate on behalf of the educational needs of adult students?
