Our Sheep |
We are partial to hair breeds as they are quite healthy, easy to care for and require no shearing. Here in Canada we have a hair breed called Barbadoes. We have crossed some of them with a Dorper (Barb ewe pictured below with Barb x Dorper lambs). We currently have a flock of about 35 sheep and we breed sparingly. |
We also have some woollies on the property - Shetland Sheep. Pictured below, on the right is Harmony, one of our Shetlands. They require annual shearing and the wool is gorgeous. |
We have found these breeds to be great for herding training and trials |
