1951 Singer 221 Featherweight

Decal Pattern: This machine has the 'Celtic Chain' decals. They are in good condition with slight wear along the front edge and on the center bed decal. See the last picture for a close up.

Serial Number: The serial number of this machine is EG639304. According to Singer, this machine was commissioned on May 16 1951. So this would be a 'true' Centennial edition of the Featherweight 221.

Voltage: The motor on this machine is the standard 110-120 volt motor, compatible with the North American electrical system.

Condition: This machine has the striated end plate. All the metal work on this machine is very bright and clean. There is some of the usual light pin scratching on the paint surface and a few tiny nicks in the flywheel and the decal wear mentioned above. For the rest the finish is in good clean and smooth condition.

Attachments included: The ruffler -- the gathering foot -- a zipper foot -- the seam guide with a screw -- the edge stitcher -- the binder -- the adjustable hemmer -- the narrow foot hemmer -- 5 bobbins -- the key for the replaced locks.

Also included: An original manual -- a tube of Singer lube in a green box -- a Singer low shank buttonholer (number 160506) with 5 templates in the green plastic case -- A Singer sewing booklet entitled "Smart Fashion Stitches", copyright 1952

Case: The case is very solid with good hinges, latches and handle. It is the case with the top tray. The latches and catches on this case have been replaced with replacement latches. They have been fastened to the case with tiny bolts and nuts.

This has been fully serviced and tested by a quilter. A quilt block will be included with the machine.
