        The lawn bowling season started with the Gilpin  Optional Pairs tournament on June 3. The scores were very close but Al Minielly  with lead Jim Tasker will get their names on the trophy.

        The Annual Royal Bank Challange lawn bowling  tournament was held on June 18 evening. There were three 10 end games with a  nice lunch after the second game, Jim and Sue Roth from the Sarnia  club put the Forest teams in their places.

        The Kiwanis Annual Lawn Bowling Tournament was  held Thursday July 8. After a 45 minute rain delay six balanced teams played  three serious games. Bill Bentleys experience proved to be too much for the  challangers.

        The Tim Horton Lawn Bowling Tournament was held  before the rain on July 22. Seven teams showed up on a questionable evening.  The games were shortened and only the last two ends were wet. From the left  front row, Todd Steven and Sharon O'Leary from the Madoc Lawn Bowling Club were  the winners, Joyce McMaster and Linda Lee Own were third, Back row and the  wettest were second place Jim Stevenson and Jim Tasker.

        The Annual VanValkenberg Jewellers sponsored  tournament was held Thursday under perfect conditions. 
Weather, good grass and well balanced teams made for a perfect evening. The  winners from left are skip "dead eye" Ann Barnes with skip Al  Minielly, then second place Larry Boeck and Jim Tasker, Third place was taken  by Betty Minielly and Jane Vansteenkiste

        September 2 was a damp night but we got three  games in anyway. Larry Boeck and Bill Bentley beat all challangers and showed  no mercy. Larry and Bill on the left won first prize and trophy for the  tournament sponsored by Ellen Jackson and Mark Armitage of Remax. Jean Potthoff  and John Minielly came second and Tom Potthoff and Jim Tasker came third. The  consolation prize was won by the Fowler team from Fairmont club.

         The Kiwanis  Lawn Bowling Tournament was held July 9 under perfect conditions. Sixteen  bowlers competed for the Kiwanis trophy. Skip Larry Boeck with lead Kay Hickey beat skip Jean  Potthoff and lead John Minielly in the final end.

The winners of the trophy was decided by the final bowl which was a close  measure.

         All of the Greens were full for the annual  VanValkenburg Lawn Bowling Tournament. Twenty bowlers and a good showing of  spectators took advantage of perfect weather and perfect greens.

         For the Twenty Fifth year the Annual Lawn  Bowling Tournament sponsored by Denning Funeral Directors Ltd (formerly Ronn E  Dodge Funeral Home) was held Thursday. There was a lot of good bowling but Al  Minielly was good this week. He won a district tournament in West   Lorne on Monday and his hot streak held on.          The final  lawn bowling tournament was held under perfect conditions. The Kernohan  Chrysler Trophy was won for the second straight year by skip Al Minielly and  lead Ron McKellar shown from left. Second place was skip Jean Potthoff with  lead Jane Vansteenkiste and third was John Minielly with lead Tom Potthoff.
