_____________________is an inspiration to his students. He brings his classroom alive. Not only is ________________ very knowledgeable in Biology and science overall, he is so enthusiastic he engages even the weak and struggling students. ________________, a man of high energy, can be seen running down the hall, leading a pack of students in a science experiment measuring speed and velocity. He is famous for his lesson on the circulatory system. _________________ brings in the fresh lungs and heart of a cow, inflates the lungs with a vacuum cleaner and invites the students to jab at that lung. They are most amazed when that lung remains inflated. ______________   has them spellbound in the classroom. His students have gone on to medical schools and into scientific research.

______________   models a healthy lifestyle. Often during lunch, he will go for a run or work out in the weight room with the students. He has coached the midget boys’ volleyball team for years. There is not a formal league so   ______________  sets up all of the tournaments so that the students have an opportunity to play. This past year he has acted as a mentor to the coach of the midget girls’ volleyball team. ______________   also referees high school volleyball. He was involved in the Canada Games, umpires and coaches baseball in his community.

______________  has great respect for everyone and insists people respect each other. ___________ teaches Sunday School in his church. Advent is one of his favourite times of the year because it gives him the opportunity to work with younger children.

______________  encourages co-operation and understanding in the classroom. For years, ________________ took his 2G science class to Niagara Falls. He got his students involved in the planning and fund-raising. Often this was the first time some of these students were able to successfully work together on a group project.

For the past 25 years, ________________, the Bishop Townshend nominee from________________ has taught a variety of subject areas including Family Studies, Special Education, Co-operative Education and English.________________ demonstrates her concern for the learning skills of her students through her involvement in________________ 's literacy committee. She is currently writing curriculum for a course designed to assist grade nine students with literacy skills development. In addition to her commitment to student learning, ________________is also attentive to the needs of________________ the staff by designing a proposal to OSSTF for additional funding on the topic of release time for curriculum development.

________________ has coached both girls’ field hockey and girls’ volleyball and she currently supervises the weight room at ________________ . Through her teaching of the Foods curriculum, she encourages her students to develop good nutritional habits and she models a healthy lifestyle by exercising with students in the weight room.

________________is on the leadership team at her church. She is currently teaching Sunday School classes to girls in grades five to eight. ________________ always demonstrates the principles of Christianity to youth both in school and in her community.

Providing refreshments at school for such varied events as Commencement, grade nine barbeques, music concerts and award banquets is one of ________________'s social contributions to the school. Beyond the school,________________ has demonstrated her social awareness by participating on a national social action committee with an organization called "Women Alive" and she has also volunteered at the Ark Aid Centre for the homeless, preparing and serving meals.
