Between now and the year 2010, enrolment of students with our Board is declining. The impact of declining enrolment is being felt by all of our surrounding Boards, most Boards across Ontario as well as nationally. This is a long term problem, not a local issue only. With fewer students and fewer dollars from the Ministry, the TVDSB will have to find ways to reduce, consolidate and eliminate excess inventory of school buildings to offset approximately $43 million less in Ministry grant money by 2010. The Board has presented detailed reports at recent Board meetings.
