Representatives from the Ontario Association of Deans of Education (OADE) Task Force met November 19, 2003 and developed a revised document of a proposal for a professional growth plan to replace the reprehensible "Professional Learning Program (PLP)". This revised alternative proposal was supported by those in attendance. The revised document clearly addressed all of OSSTF’s concerns. The document was subsequently endorsed by the OADE.

The Dean’s Task Force has now delivered the alternative PLP proposal to Minister of Education Gerard Kennedy who will meet with the Presidents of the teacher affiliates and the chair of the Dean’s Task Force in January.

Gerard Kennedy has been travelling around the province and has told teachers’ union presidents that "recertification" as it exists now will be gone.

Let us not take thought for our separate interests, but let us help one another.
