This photo, and the next one, were taken during a grueling trip over the sea ice from the floe edge into Eric's Harbour.  Most of the 50 kilometre trip was over snow drifts like this, or worse, with large sections of broken ice that had to be circumnavigated.  (Click on the image for a more detailed view.)
