These are chafinches - fairly common, but pretty nonetheless. The ones on the left are at the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds Osprey Centre in Loch Garten, near Nethybridge. The one on the right (with many of his friends) was enjoying a feast of shortbread outside Dunvegan Castle on Skye.
