Dryburgh Abbey (pronounced "Dryborough," or "Dryburra,") on the River Tweed, was built around 1150, and, after suffering fires and battles, had been abandonded by the end of the sixteenth century.   Notable poet Sir Walter Scott is buried here.   There is also, on site, a one thousand year old (and not very photogenic) yew tree.
