"To end abuse of Women and Children."



WRRC offers residential and non-residential supports to abused women and their children through our programs.  These include:

  • 24-hour Help Line 1-800-265-5390: formerly known as the "Crisis Line" this line is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for women directly affected by abuse, or friends looking to help someone who may be suffering from abuse

  • Shelter: open to women 16 yrs old or over from anywhere who need a safe place to stay with or without her children

  • Second Stage Housing:  a safe place for women and/or their children to live for up to one year after leaving an abusive relationship. Rent is set on a “geared-to-income” basis.

  • Counselling:  individual and group support for women 16 years of age or older who want a safe place to talk or receive support because of an abusive relationship.  These services are provided in Strathroy as well as outreach sites in West Middlesex County: Ilderton, Lucan, Glencoe, Melbourne,  Mt. Brydges,  Newbury and Parkhill.

  • Transition:  the transition program offers resources and support to women who are in a transition phase in their life. If you are leaving a relationship and you need help sorting through legal plans, custody documents, or if you need a safety plan the Transition Program can help you.

  • Children's Counselling:  children and/or their mothers can receive guidance from one of our child and youth advocates on a number of different issues including: healthy relationships, divorce or separation, bullying issues, safety planning etc. Counselling is offered in strathroy as well as Lucan and Glencoe outreach sites.

  • ALL SERVICES ARE FREE AND CONFIDENTIAL
