Played for annually since 1979, it was named for the man who donated it, FAC (Fred) Trott. An extremely well liked member of the officers' messes at Dundas Street and later Prevost Armouries, Fred was an accomplished golfer and "Brag" player. He could be found in the mess most Friday evenings at the poker table, and on the weekends, at the golf course.
As usual, a big thanks to Judy and Armin Grunwald. Despite not being golfers, they have contributed more to this tournament in the last several years than most. As starters, official photographers, and keepers of the purse, they have been tireless in their support.
