The Lorne Argent Memorial
Award
This award, presented annually by the Woodstock Field Naturalists'
Club, is designed to encourage an aspiring young naturalist. Five hundred dollars is awarded
to a graduating high school student with an interest in Natural
History. The applicant should demonstrate an involvement in
the study of Natural History, Biology, Conservation and/or Environmental
Studies, and plan to proceed to university to study in a related
field. Applications are due by April 30th of each year. Selected
candidates will be interviewed before the end of May. One
candidate will be interviewed from each of the high schools
in Woodstock when possible. See Student Services at your high school for an application form.
Book awards
The club provides book awards to biology students in our local high schools every year.
