Vision is translated from various Hebrew words of the Old Testament, including those pronounced mar-eh, makh-az-eh and khaw-zone, and Greek words of the New Testament, pronounced hor-ah-ma and optasia - all of which carry the meaning of seeing. In The Bible, visions were usually "wide-awake" experiences (unlike dreams), given to chosen individuals at pivotal times in Bible History. Examples -
