132: The Bar Kokhba Revolt began. The last Jewish revolt, Judea and Jerusalem were deleted from maps, Herodotus renamed the region "Palestine."

160: Polycarp martyred.

170: Years of the Great Plague in the Roman Empire.

220: The Goths invaded Asia Minor and the Balkans.

249: Rome 1,000 years old.

285: The Roman empire was partitioned into Western and Eastern empires, becoming the "2 legs" of Daniel's Statue.

312: Constantine defeated Maxentius at Milvian Bridge.

313: The Edict of Milan, Constantine established toleration of Christianity.

331: The Roman emperor Constantine decreed Sunday as the official Roman-Christian day of rest in place of The Fourth Commandment.

325: The Council of Nicaea, produced the Nicaean Creed.

330: Old Saint Peter's Basilica was dedicated by Constantine. It was located over the traditional (but never authenticated) burial site of Peter on Vatican Hill in Rome.

383: Roman legions began leaving Britain.

400: Vulgate Latin text became the standard Bible of Roman Christianity.

410: The Visigoths sacked Rome.

476: The traditional date for the "fall" of the western Roman empire.

550: The crucifix became a Christian icon.

596: Augustine of Canterbury was sent to convert Britain to Christianity.

637: Jerusalem was captured by Islam.

1054: The split between the Eastern and Western Roman churches was formalized, the Orthodox Church was founded.

1095: The First Crusade called by Pope Urban II to restore Asia Minor to Byzantium and conquer the Holy Land from the Turks. The Crusades would continue until 1291.

1260: The date which a 1988 Vatican-sponsored scientific study placed the origin of the Shroud Of Turin.

1370: English became established as the national language of England.

1350: The Renaissance began in Italy.

1380: English theologian John Wycliffe produced the first complete translation of the Bible in English.

1517: Martin Luther's 95 Theses - the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.

1521: Martin Luther excommunicated from the Roman Catholic church.

1530: The Augsburg Confession, Martin Luther established the Lutheran Church.

1534: Henry VIII took England away from the Roman Catholic church, established the British monarch as the head of the Church of England.

1536: English Bible translator William Tyndale was executed on charges of heresy.

1609: The Baptist Church was founded by John Smyth. He rejected infant baptism and demanded separation of church and state.

1611: The King James Version of the Bible was first published.

1901: The American Standard Version of the Bible first published.

1925: The "Scopes Monkey Trial," a Tennessee school teacher was arrested for teaching the theory of evolution. See The Seven Days Of Creation

1947: Discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

1948: The founding of the modern state of Israel.
