Purgatory

Purgatory, from the Latin word meaning to purify, is believed by many to exist as a place, or condition, of temporary suffering for those among the dead who, put most simply, are not yet good enough for "heaven," but not bad enough for "hell." There are various conflicting opinions, even among those who teach it, as to where it is, how it works, or how long it lasts. Purgatory is a centuries-old, human-devised doctrine that is not found anywhere in the Word of God, The Holy Bible. It's a fable that exists only in the minds of those who choose to believe in it.
