Our family: The five of us have many things that we share but one of the main things that we enjoy is the love of our dogs. We are father; Dennis, mother; Susan, twin daughters; Roxanne and Christine, and the youngest Randall (Randy). Susan does most of the dog related decisions while Dennis does most of the photographic work.
About the breed: A dog bred for centuries to be able to go into the mountains of the Pyrenees bordering between France and Spain, to guard flocks of sheep. Very independent thinkers, this breed ranges in size from 27 to 32 inches at the shoulder and 25 to 29 inches for female. weight is in proportion to overall size and structure. Amazingly they are very small eaters for their size compared to other dogs of comparable size. this is due to a very low metabolism.

The Pyrenees coat is predominantly white with markings of grey, badger and varying shades of tan being allowed. Surprisingly enough the coat is very easy to maintain, dirt will easily brush out, bringing back that lovely white color.

At Sanchor, I highly recommend a puppy Kindergarten or beginner obedience class to all our puppy buyers as this is a great learning experience for both puppy and owner.
Be forewarned a very special bond develops between a Pyr and its family, one that only deepens with time. Pyr fanciers refer to this as the "potato chip factor" ..........Betcha can't own just one!!!!!!!!!

If you are interested in a great companion - for pet or show - please feel free to contact me at anytime.
