DEEP PURPLE LIVE AT MONTREUX--1996 2006
|
Review: Deep
Purple live concert from the birthplace of Smoke On The
Water--Montreux. The main concert is from their show at the Montreux
festival in 1996. The band proves with this concert and any other live
shows they seem to release that they never lose any of their energy or
talent for the live shows. They are getting a little older and maybe
not running around the stage like they used to and maybe a little
heavier but nothing cuts into their performances. Steve Morse on guitar
of course and does a extrodinary job and love the duels he does with
Jon Lord on keys and with Ian and his recognizable squeals and screams.
Featuring timeless Purple classics like BLACK NIGHT, SPEED KING and of
course SMOKE ON THE WATER and a few newer ones(at the time of the
concert) like the great TED THE MECHANIC. Bonus tracks are 5 songs from
their concert at the same place 4 years later in 2000 with 2 more must
haves with LAZY and HIGHWAY STAR. Any Purple fan that is not against
Morse being in the band will enjoy this dvd. |
