In August a friend suggested we go to Lingham lake just outside of Madoc Ontario.  Water levels were down when we when in so the trails were moderate to easy however there is one potentially major water crossing and some serious axle sucking mud.  Depending on the season the trail can become very difficult without a winch.  There are areas of rock as well and another trail that we have yet to explore that follows the powerline and supposedly offers some decent rock crawling as well.  The trip takes a good 4 hours from where we were in Paris Ontario to get there and you need to leave about another hour to travel the entire trail to the lake itself.   Watch out for ATV's and dirt bikes as well as tractors???  yes we actually saw a guy pulling his fishing boat into the lake with his big old John Deere.  There is not much room for passing along the trail so take care.  The Marmora ATV club shows a topo map of the location on there site here.  Most of the trail information came from Al Graham who lives in the area.  Al is an avid Zuki 4x4 owner who has an amazing little rig and was kind enough to give us trail reports before we went in.  We actually met Al on the trail; he was heading in as we were on our way out.  Check out Al's site here.  As for the trip I will let the pics tell the story.  The fishing wasnt the best but we did catch some.  The only beef I had with this trip was the absolute mess that people had left some of the campsites!!  REMEMBER!! TO TREAD LIGHTLY AND CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF!!  Leaving a mess only makes a bad name for all recreational vehicles!
Al and his friends early into the trail..... Al's alternator was full of mud so we had to wait for him to clean it  up and get a boost before we could pass.
The first major obstacle is the creek crossing.... its not bad in the summer (about 3"at the deepest point) but I wouldnt do this without a snorkel in the spring.  Both trucks went accros without a problem however the water was pretty deep on marks stock Trooper.
Other than garbage and other refuse left by incosiderate campers, the sites around the lake were great!  We paddled out into the lake and found even more sites on the many islands... yes we ate the fish and they were delicious!
I got bored on day two while the rest of the group was fishing so a couple of us took my truck back down the trail looking for adventure.... AL told us to avoid the mud.... but.... oh well at least it was only an hour walk back to the camp to get the trooper to pull me out.
All in all it was a great trip!  here are a few pics of the trail and the group.
