Fourth Anniversary is the 2nd CD offering from the band named after the popular London Ontario nightclub. The disc features four original tunes, an instrumental and eight covers. Unlike their first recording, THIRD ANNIVERSARY (June/95), which included six guest vocalists, this new disc showcases the band's three lead vocalists.
The Old Chicago Blues Band was formed in the summer of 1992. Since then the band has been on a roll, performing three shows a night, five nights a week at the Old Chicago Speakeasy & Grill. They have accompanied over fifty different guest vocalists and have recorded with American blues artists, Chicago Pete and Jimmy Jackson.
The band can also be seen on their own television show, Speakeasy Blues (Rogers Cable 13), which has already taped ten 30-minute episodes. They also perform for college audiences and are at home on concert and festival stages. They will be performing Friday July 19 at the Detroit Afro-American Blues Festival.
The Old Chicago Blues Band is:
Chris Murphy sax, organ, vocals, bandleader
John Knapp drums, percussion
Geoff Dahl electric bass, harmonica, vocals
