poster from the 2007 Toronto Fringe Festival production

Duel Of Ages invites you to explore the infamous legacy of personal combat through six short plays and fight scenes [now NINE scenes for the Next Stage Festival!] depicting various ages in the history of duelling, from the famous Duel de Jarnac in 1547 to the modern cinematic 'wire-fu' action scene. With the writings of such Fringe and Summerworks luminaries as Denis McGrath (Dora award nominated author of 'Top Gun the Musical'), Mike McPhaden (Dora award winning author of 'Poochwater'), Michael Rubenfeld ('Spain') and Gregg Taylor (Black Jack Justice, Decoder Ring theatre), and choreography and performances by some of Toronto's most talented fight directors and fight-trained actors.

The 2007 production received NNNN from Now Magazine, with reviewer Glenn Sumi saying it's "unlike anything you’re likely to see at this or any other Fringe," and that "the huge cast kicks major ass in the thrills department."  Eye Weekly Reader Reviews repeatedly exclaim, "See this show!", commenting on "brilliant writing, beautiful timing (comedic and otherwise)", saying it is "exceptionally well acted" and is "physical theatre at its best", not to mention, "by far the best stage combat [they] have ever seen"!

Duel Of Ages has something for everyone incorporating thrilling stage fights, drama, comedy, dance and music, with a cast of twenty-one performers, it is sure to be a theatrical extravaganza not to be missed!
