Siobhán Richardson (formerly Siobhán Chin) is a versatile performer with roles running the full gambit: from an Angel to a Deadly Sin, from victim to vampire, from soldier in a mob to ingénue lead character, in such varied styles and periods as Shakespeare, Musical Theatre, New Works and Medieval Drama. Favourite roles include Viven Bliss (Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii, Theatre Muskoka), the Earl of Richmond (Shakespeare’s Richard III, ACT Productions, Brampton), Lavinia (Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus, Canopy Theatre), Maria (West Side Story, Fallen Rock Productions) and Sister Leo (Aha! Communications, and Theatre Cambridge). Having a particular passion for New Works, Siobhán has also had the opportunity to be involved in a number of workshops and playreadings, including The Five Vengeances with Cahoots Theatre, Refuge with writer Brian Van Norman, and Singkil during its appearance at the CrossCurrents Festival at Factory Theatre. With her diverse ethnic background, Siobhán has been cast and/or reads as English, Scottish, Irish, Spanish, East Indian, First Nations, Iranian, Romanian, Russian, Italian, French, Asian, Filipino and others. Before attending the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, BC, Siobhán had already spent most of her life studying either ballet and various forms of dance, Martial Arts, or voice. The 2-year college program augmented and continued her prior training, and -- though always an actor first -- Siobhán is at home whether dancing, singing, fighting or speaking to tell a story. |
