Lady Saraid: wife of Prince Cyrwyn, mother of Devin and Lyresande. The only child of an elderly, doting father, Saraid was first brought to the Royal court as a young woman of eighteen at the behest of her friend Sir Kairdren of Holtshelm. While there, she met and immediately fell in love with Cyrwyn, who fully reciprocated. Their affair created a rift between Cyrwyn and Kairdren, who left Saileigh in anger and bitterness. Cyrwyn's brother, Adair thought his brother's devotion to a girl of obscure family ridiculous, sought to scare Sariad away from court by pretending to rape her. Fortunately, his plan was thwarted by Cyrwyn, who then had to be prevented from beating his borther to death.

After Adair was later found dead, Saraid willingly followed Cyrwyn into exile. She gave birth to Devin about two years later and Lyresande six years after that. Though a struggle at first, Saraid adapted to her new life; aided by Kairdren and his wife, Yseulla. The story of the friends' reunion is an adventurous one and yet to be told.
