Kairdren and Yseulla Holtshelm: the parents of Kedric, Keriann, twins Tannus and Weyland, Gwendeth, and Bran. Kairdren's connection to the royal household was not revealed to his children until after Cyrwyn's death. In a state of bitter disappointment when he was confronted by Yseulla's father, a trader named Mercer, Kairdren was married to the girl at the point of a sword, under circumstances the proud Yseulla doesn't like to dwell on. Shortly after, when Cyrwyn and Saraid were reunited with Kairdren, the friends reconciled during an adventure they refer to amongst themselves as "The Curse Of Caer Uath".

Proud, with a fiery temper, Yseulla was not very please by her father's choice but was forced by circumstances to comply. Kairdren, for his part was just as proud and sparks, along with vases and chairs, flew between the couple. Fortunately, a true, abiding love also grew between them, best expressed in their six children.
