Princess Emera: wife of Prince Balfyr, mother of Princes Adair and Cyrwyn. As a young woman, Emera met her future husband when her family's castle was under seige by Graidon's forces. The only daughter and fourth of five children, she tragically lost her father and four brothers in the battle. Yet during the time of these events, Balfyr, unexpectedly fell in love with the proud, strong woman and she with him. However, when Emera discovered that Balfyr would lose his immortality when they wed, refused to marry the Prince. It was only after an intense and heartfelt courtship that Emera finally succumbed to Balfyr's proposal.

Emera has never accepted the belief that Cyrwyn murdered Adair and had her health and sensitivity to her husband's feeling not prevented her, she would never have left the investigation. She warmly welcomes her second son's family and supports Devin's new investigation of the murder.
