Devin: son of Cyrwyn and Saraid. Devin grew up with no knowledge of his parents' noble and tragic background. Intelligent and quick-witted and with a beautiful voice, Devin was given some early training as a bard. His training was cut short however when his father was killed by maurauding Shadowwolves.

Devin left his mother and sister and went on a quest for vengeance and was soon followed by his friend Kedric. Devin's rage brought him to the attention of Liath, Queen of the Wolves. Under her guidance the young men became formidable hunters, gaining a notable reputation among the Rangers in the great northern forests of the province of Belahn. Unfortunately, Devin was tricked into betraying Liath into Graidon's clutches. Since then Devin has become more cynical and impetuous and is given to outbursts of temper that often thrust him into danger.
