Prince Balfyr:
The second son of Aywyl and Kerys. Balfyr has endeared himself throughout
the Twin Kingdoms with his cheerful and generous nature. In his youth,
he was known as a charming rogue who romanced many a maiden with his
handsome looks and silvery voice. However, his heart remained unrepentantly
uncaptured until he met his wife Emera. Though not quite as skilled
as his brother Aleric, Balfyr is still a very accomplished warrior whose
insightful cunning is wisely feared in battle.
His adventureous
character has repeatedly brought him into conflict with his brother
Graidon. Indeed, it is such conflicts that people cite as the reason
for the many tragedies that have plagued Balfyr's house.
Balfyr's legendary
romance of Emera is celebrated in song and poetry; its tragic side first
apparent when it was revealed he would lose his immortality when he
wed. He is Aleric's "Heir Apparent" and though circumstances
have dimmed his cheerfulness, he remains popular with the people.
