King Aleric: The first son of Aywyl and Kerys.Aleric is sometimes known as "The Golden Lion" and his skill and prowess in battle supports this image. He is the quintessential noble knight and just, compassionate ruler. Yet, his mother's fiery mature can be seen in his ferociousness in battle; he has never been defeated in direct combat, even as a youth. The irony of a compassionate man with such an ability for dealing out death is not lost on Aleric. Such skill is partly what has contributed to Aleric's presence as a living legend among his people. The exteme reverance and awe felt by most of the ordinary people of the Twin Kingdoms for him has left Aleric feeling somewhat isolated and detached from them.

Aleric first rose to power in response to the threat posed by his brother Graidon. Immortal due to his mystical heritage, Aleric was able to achieve the monumental task of unifying the Twin Kingdoms over a period of approximately a hundred years. He has presently ruled for five hundred years. He has never married but there are tales of a magical and tragic romance concerning the handsome king.
