Adair: late first son of Prince Balfyr and Princess Emera, he was the Heir Apparent to the throne after his father. Gregarious, generous, thoughtless and self-indulgent, Adair was a man of contradictions. Though not inherently cruel, Adair's predilection for the seduction of fair maidens resulted in at least one suicide attempt by a cast-off lover. It was his lack of considering consequences that led to the outrageous, faked (?) attack on Saraid that resulted in the bitter and ferocious estrangement between Adair and his brother Cyrwyn. However, Adair didn't have to regret his actions for long as shortly after the attack he was found murdered!

Cyrwyn was immediately seen as the most likely suspect but Adair's general rogueish behaviour (especially in the company of his friends in the group known as The Red Hunt) had made him many enemies. When no evidence to convict or absolve Cyrwyn was found, and the main investigator was killed in a fire, the case went cold and has since remained unsolved.
