Life:
Okay,
so there's been a lot on my plate lately, and most of it I haven't had
any appetite for :P I don't know where to start so as it comes to
mind... my Dad had severe kidney failure, so since the first day
when they were unofficially giving him less than 24 hours, he's been in
hospital. That and his diabetes, are complicating each other, which
then of course led to his heart doing things that made them want to keep
an eye on that, too. Anyway it's been a couple of weeks now, just
about, and he went to the Willett a few days ago.
Work's been stressful, meeting quotas has been getting tougher, staff has
been taking turns for days off, I swear, and just like everybody else I
know, these days, everybody at work seems to have a lot going on, lately.
So pretty much every day has been s struggle, but tomorrow I plan to have
everybody pitch in to make sure we are prepared for the weekend, when we
don't have much administrative or maintenance support. Anyway, bleh,
I really would rather leave that 'til morning ;)
My car, oh ffs, it's a good thing Mom let me use Dad's car for a bit, 'cus
now I can't get any more trip permits (they only give ya four a year now,
they changed it in December), and I still need an e-test. That's
really frustrating since it's finally running better than it has since,
probably last summer. Anyway, all I have to do now is get it in somewhere
to get tested and get stickers for my plates. Of course, I'm only
figuring it's going to pass. But at this point I don't care, if I
have to I'll pay the 200 bucks or whatever, to get the sticker. If
luck is paying attention, she knows bloody well she owes me, so really
the test should be no problem :P
I guess that's it, for now. Oh, and it's somebody's birthday, so,
um, Happy Birthday! ;)

J.
Geils: Remember them? :P I was just thinking about
that "Centerfold" song. That soft fuzzy sweater, too magical to touch
;) lol, really, I have this affliction where I like romance, but
have to to say, although I understand the sentiment, at some point, you
have to say, okay, nothing's really that magical. Oh, and
I wrote this thing. I think I'm going to write a bunch of them.
I used to like to take a subject, like especially people, and write some
stuff. When I was in high school, I was really into poetry, but nowadays
I like to write prose better. I tend to have a poetic flavour to
my writing anyway.
"The sound of
her voice is like a narcotic to my soul. It calms my very essence,
lifts the stress from my mind, and drains the tension from my body.
When she tells me stories of her life as it unfolds, I feel as though I'm
watching a movie, in which she is the star. She carries herself as
if she relishes in it, adoring the role she plays in her life. She
lives as if critics are watching her performance, striving to play the
best part she can. She's a good girl. To hear her trials and
tribulations, her accomplishments and gains, her sorrows and her happiness,
brings me joy like nothing that I have had pleasure to experience in recent
memory. You see, it's the passion that drives me, her lust for life,
her vigorous approach to all that it may challenge her with, and her caring
warmth that she draws all that she adores, into her heart with. The
emotional fulfilment I acquire through connection with her is astounding,
and yet I yearn for more."

Nothin'...
I dunno, I just thought I should post an entry. I keep thinking I
should post my thoughts, but I really don't type fast enough ;) I
met a new girl. I'm definitely interested, just a little skittish.
At first I took that to be a sign, that perhaps there may be trouble down
that road. Really I tend to think that's a cop-out. In fact
I think that it may be my defenses rising, as I realize that this girl
could, if she chose, quite likely get under my skin. I saw the other
one today, too. That was pretty cool. It's wierd, but we spoke
about how it was good to have caught each other again, and that maybe we
should meet up again later this week. It is a really nice thing to
have a friend in a girl that I adore so much, and who seems to be really
drawn to me, even if we never take it any further. It's the feeling
of being close to someone without even touching. Odd how, more than
anything, I miss that most, anymore, about being in a committed relationship,
and somehow I can find it in a platonic friendship.

Hardware:
My monitor was acting up for quite a while. The other day it only
lasted an hour before it started freaking out, so I went out and got a
new one. Actually, I got an off-lease unit, from ViG in Cambridge.
They have 19" Sun monitors for 79 bucks. The site said 99, but when
we got there, the price was cheaper. That was the good thing that
happened that day, I think. Oh yeah, Pete went with me. I know
you were asking who we was :P I'll tell ya since it wont start
rumours, lol. Anyway, I had no idea how crappy my old one was until
I saw my system running on this one. I could actually believe that
it was slowing my system down, trying to keep up to the video card.
Oh, btw, they have 19" flatscreens, too, I think they said they were 129
;)

Bitter
Irony: I love the irony that exists as if to define life.
I thought about it tonight, and found that I believe I gravitate toward
people who wallow in it. I once had a circle of friends, who often
made decisions based on irony. I don't know how many of them realised
it, but often we made decisions based on the irony that the results would
carry. It can make life extremely interesting. Anyway, back
when we were doing that, like, all the time... I think it's those days
that give me some of my strongest life slogans, like, "Life's a sport,
play hard or stay home". That's one of my favorites. See,
it makes it easier to make decisions when you have things like that programmed
into your brain, to think of, when it's time to make it or break it.
One more time is a stupid idea, maybe, with something like gambling, but
when you're counting on your hard work, your problem-solving skills, your
enigmatic charisma :P or any trait that you have to use to get what you
are striving for, it's worth it, you're damn right it is. If learning
from the past, and giving all you have now, to achieve your goal,
may gain you an achievement you desire, then ffs just go for it!

Hitting
1000: YAY! ;) I got 1000 hits on my wallpaper page (the
a-f one). That's wild, I'm so happy. And already over 50 on
the main page, that's a quarter of what I got during all of either of the
last two years. Of course, my site has traditionally been stronger
in the winter, so the first couple months of the year are usually pretty
good. Sometime this week, I'll get back to posting some of the evil
that Bush and Co. have been up to, as well as any other interesting news
I can dig up. My usual source has had a lot on her plate lately.
I certainly hope everything works out for the best, for the bunch she's
watching over.

Wallpaper: Jesse emailed me looking for Shania Twain wallpaper, but
he wanted her in a bikini. Understanding his interest, I decided
to take a look. I've tried before to find good Shania wallpapers,
I thought I had one posted but I don't see it. I have one of her,
on my hard drive, in a Hallowe'en setting. Anyway, the feature today
is the one I found while looking around. It's not a bikini pic, but
it whets the same hunger, and it's the nicest one I saw. Unfortunately,
it looks like some guy ripped it off from wapers,
but I'll link it til I find it on the wapers site.

Site
Stuff: I just want to thank Jill
for requesting Orlando Bloom wallpaper. To tell the truth I didn't
even know who he was :P Sure, I'd heard the name lots, but
I haven't even seen any of his movies except LOTR, and I didn't realize
he was in the movie. Anyway, I looked around and picked a couple
of wallpapers that I liked. The one I picked for the feature, is
actually a drawing by an artist, who makes wallpaper with his drawings.
It's pretty cool, check it out.
Oh,
my car ;) I finally changed my water pump... I gotta tell ya,
this heat thing? It's awesome. Anyway, now my car runs like
it did when I got it, I have a feeling the pump was going, way before I
noticed a problem. It's like an extra hundred horse I swear :P
And since I fixed that tire a couple weeks ago, it handles way better,
too. I think I'll get them rotated and balanced this spring, though,
'cus something still doesn't quite feel right. Imagine they likely
do an alignment when they rotate the tires, figure?
OMG?
Now there's a mile stone, one of my wallpaper
pages got over 100 hits today, wow. Thanks to everybody who visits,
it's way cool ;) Time to do advertising :P

Porter
Goss: I'm just looking into this now, apparently the video was on Leno
here, yesterday. It looks like we saw it quite a bit later than some
people. All of the incompetence in the world, seems to be congregating.
That's not in Revelations, is it? Doesn't sound familiar, anyway.
Regardless, I think that with the CIA being most likely to be the watchdogs
of the world, on today's planet, the citizens of earth deserve to know
why Goss thinks he managed to get the job, even though even he knows he's
totally incompetent for the job. He must have thought about it.
I really just need to know. If you really want to know, too, go to
my
site forum, sign up and join my mailing list, thanks. ;)
Hey,
and speaking of mailing lists, why tf didn't Mike tell me about this?
He sent out email to tell us how to vote for People's Choice, but not to
tell us about this video??
January

My
new favorite quote: "It's good to see that democracy is alive and
well, at least on the People's Choice Awards" - Martin Sheen.
That's what he said when he came out to present the favorite movie award.
It got funnier when he got to present the award to Michael Moore for Fahrenheit
911. Way to go, people. I must admit, it is at least refreshing.
Where were those people back on November 2?

Bullsh*t: "President George W. Bush nominated current US Trade
Representative Robert Zoellick to become the next deputy secretary of state."
"Mr Zoellick was a paid consultant on the Enron advisory board before joining
the US administration. He also owned Enron shares worth between $15,000
and $50,000, which he sold after joining the administration."
Do I need to add anything to this? The more corrupt you can prove
yourself to be, to President Bush, the better job he can get you.
Sickening.
From
Sir Michael: Apparently for the first time since 1877, a U.S.
Senator (her name is Boxer) stood up with dissenting Representatives from
the House to challenge the validity of the U.S. presidential election.
Good on her. Hope she doesn't have any unfortunate accidents.
Without her support, there would be no chance of any investigation into
the vote at all, and now they will have to look into what happened in Ohio,
at least. If I were an American, and not fully victim to the brainwashing,
I would be thankful that people like Michael Moore are watching what's
going on.

Blahs:
How long can it take, huh? Personally, Valentine's Day hasn't done
a lot for me since the late 80's I think, so I have low expectations for
beating the winter blahs until Easter :P Watching the kids shows
helps, they keep saying make the best of each day. Pretty good advice
for anybody, really. Really, it works. Make sure you're busy,
or you're really pretty much dead.

We
made it: Well it's a brand new year. I hope it brings a better
future for all of us. I know it won't unless we all try to make it
that way. Anyway, the first brings change here on my site, so I have
to go to work :P

Christmas:
It's
finally almost over! Yay! And btw,
Merry
Christmas! to anyone I haven't said it to.
I've tried to make sure I got to so many people over the last week or two,
I just know there will be some that I'll never figure out how I missed
them. Anyways, I'm all fired up, and I think I should find something
else to do other than type this :P

Holidays:
YAY!
I'm on vacation. I really needed it, and yes, I know, this time of
year there isn't that much time for relaxing, but I love being out and
about over the holidays, especially if you're not rushed. Anyway,
Happy Holidays!! bbs... ;)

Ontario
Smoking Ban: This thing is going over the edge. I was reading
today about the proposed smoking ban in Ontario, going into effect in May,
2006. I happen to agree, that there isn't any reason why the wall
behind a corner store counter needs to be filled with cigarettes, but now
they are banning smoking outside? That's a little crazy. In
fact, the province is behind a lot of municipalities. Many have already
required that smoking areas in public establishments be set up to eliminate
second-hand smoke as it is produced. This is very expensive to set
up, and lots of establishments with their customers in mind, made the investment
to ensure that they were not only safe, but that their establishment would
be able to continue to have an area where they can light up. Now
the province wants to put in legislation to eliminate that, wasting all
that investment. Opponents to public smoking may say the law is fine,
but the question is, why are smokers being targeted again? They already
provide a huge chunk of tax income for governments. How about banning
industry from releasing smoke into the air? Surely they provide many
more contaminants at much higher levels. Or how about we stop spending
so much on advertising and legislating and enforcement, and spend our resources
on research and development to help smokers to stop smoking,
instead. We just discovered a new breed of monkey that apparently
hadn't been recorded before, we are developing new technology for space
travel, we are investing in ways to kill more people, faster, in international
conflicts, but somehow we can't come up with a surefire method that people
can use to eliminate their reliance on nicotine. Freaking crazy.
The whole world is nuts but you and me, and I'm starting to wonder about
you.

American
Refugees: (CP)
"War dodger claims U.S. guilty of war crimes - Claims refugee status"
Apparently, there are a number of American soldiers who don't want to go
to Iraq to engage in war crimes, and some of them are claiming refugee
status in Canada. They feel they'll be unjustly prosecuted for not
supporting their home nation's illegal international actions. They
will likely need the loud and clear support of Canadians if they hope to
have a chance of staying here based on their claims. We can't hope
that international law and Canadian law and foreign policy will save them.
It has become clear in recent years that only public opinion affects the
decisions made by law-makers in the western world. Certainly it seems
important that Canadians don't allow their government to just do whatever
they feel is right, or we'll end up in the same boat as the Americans have.
Normally I'd say that people should stay and fix things rather than run
when things are bad, but these people will most likely be very effectively
silenced if they are forced to return to their homeland. Jeremy Hinzman
and his fellow Americans fleeing to our country see Canada as the land
of the truly free, are we going to prove them right, or wrong?
Read
the article in the National Post
(btw, American Press
tells almost the identical story in this case)

Ukraine:
Now see, these people seem to get it. Why can't the Americans just
do what the Ukrainians did? Hey, I think I'll look around on some
news sites, just to see if the Americans are even getting the news about
how Ukrainians protested until their election was declared invalid, because
of widespread fraud, and cheating. See, we need to let the Americans
know we're watching, so if they demand to know what's going on with Bush,
they'll know that Bush can't retaliate against them, or he'll face the
same kind of problems that Saddam Hussein did. Anyway, I dunno how
long this'll be, so I'll continue in the forum
;)

Me?
: I been trying to avoid the hibernation thing. Not doing
so badly, I went out last night, and that was pretty fun. But tonight
I only went out until about ten, visiting friends, and went home after
that. But I did manage to stay up to see Baby
Blue 2 ;) The kids will be over Saturday night, of course, so
if no one comes to keep me company I'll be on after 8 or 9.

"Red"
Tape: I found out the deal with indicting Bush for war crimes.
As long as he's on our soil for official purposes, he gets diplomatic immunity.
If he's on vacation, or no longer the current President of the U.S.A.,
then we can proceed, but not if he's on an official visit.
November
17
The
Visitor: We're getting a visitor on the 30th! Yay!
I'm so excited. You never know what will happen when foreign leaders
choose to travel our land. It's eventful enough when our own leaders
traverse the country. It should prove interesting to see what will
happen during Bush's visit. I can't wait. ;-)
The
Story: Man, this
is Awesome! Thomas Walkom does a story
for the Toronto Star, released at 1:00 a.m., November 16th. It's
titled Should
Canada Indict Bush?, and it's an in depth look, that leaves you wondering
how we could not.
And
another thing: Is it just me, or is George Bush just going to
keep killing Iraqis until someone comes up with Bin Laden? I must
admit, there is a terrorist out there that I'd like dealt with.
November

Depose
Bush! You have to be kidding if you're still asking why.
Americans far and wide are wanting to know who the hell the people who
voted for Bush are. The exit polls don't even come close to the results
we were given. Experts can't figure out how the results could even
be right, based on the exit polls and logical interpretation of statistical
data. They just aren't in the range of possibilities, it just doesn't
happen that way, mathematics don't change year by year... Read some
Arab news, see what they really think, instead of Fox's story on what Bush
wants you to believe. I'm working on a page for some links that would
help you out.
Forums:
I
joined Bravenet, just so I could have a forum for the site. I'm working
on fixing it up, but it works now, anyway. Feel free to post there,
if I really have that much trouble with your post I'll just take it off
:P But seriously, I won't be censoring posts, I'll only do that for
etiquette issues and the like.

Stephen
Harper: This guy thinks we're all idiots, too. I realize
that a lot of you will say, of course, he's a politician. But I just
got a flyer in the mail, and it sounds like the Conservative party wants
to remind us, that of all the loser parties in our last election, they
were the biggest. It talks about how in minority governments in Canada,
the opposition parties have more influence. They basically say that
they are the only ones who will be voicing the opinions of Canadians in
parliament. Which is wierd, of course, if you remember that, if Canadians
agreed, the Conservatives wouldn't be in opposition, they'd have formed
the government, not the Liberals. Then there's a poll, 2 questions,
first: Have you had enough of Paul Martin's Liberals (we just elected
them 4 1/2 months ago, with the potential for a four year mandate), and
second: Is the Conservative Party on the right track? (which
4 1/2 months ago we did, for being the opposition, apparently). If
these freakin' morons force another election before the end of 2005, so
help me... Please, people, pay attention. When these guys
talk they think we're listening, and when no one stands up and disagrees,
they think they're right. Regardless of whether you support a particular
party, please stay informed, at least. They're making decisions every
day that affect you and I. The Americans just had an election that
may poorly affect the rest of the entire world, mostly (in my opinion)
because too many of them aren't paying attention to what the people leading
their country are doing. You really should be making voting decisions
based on what you see up to the day before the campaign starts, the campaign
propaganda means extremely little. Anyway, I ranted enough, have
a great day!! ;)
November

Crazy:
Apparently
I was wrong. I used to ascribe to the politically correct point of
view, that it's the American government, not the people, that the world
hates. Now I really don't know what to think. Yesterday, the
American election showed that around 50% of their people just happen to
believe that their current approach to international affairs is A-Ok.
I was sickened to watch Bush's speech this afternoon. I wonder how
close this is to how free Eurasia felt in the early 40's.

But

Yay!:
Dunno,
just felt like saying that. Are the Americans really going to elect
Bush again? Like have they heard of Fahrenheit 911? Or are
they just so completely well brain-washed that they just think it's a good
idea to let George run the country.
