Video Link Workshops at RSA

Overview

Due to the enormous success of the Videoconference pilot project and subsequently, the Videoconference Workshop Series, Regional Support Associates is pleased to offer a new and improved series of Videoconference Workshops for the 2007-2008 calendar year.

RSA, their community partners, and the entire Southern Network of Specialized Care (SNSC), are offering a broad range of educational programs for front-line staff and managers. This series covers the important issues in the field of intellectual disabilities. There are a number of new workshops being offered in this series in addition to some of the popular sessions from last year. There will also be an opportunity for participation in the Province Wide Dual Diagnosis Grand Rounds hosted by the Royal Ottawa Hospital.

With the development of the SNSC, there will be an expansion of Videoconference sites across the Southern Region in 2007. We have listed these new sites on our “Videoconference Site Locations” page in this booklet. We are also pleased to announce that during this year, RSA will now have the ability to offer Videoconference training through the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN), which is a province-wide Videoconference network. In the past, RSA was only able to include up to 4 sites in our training. The partnership with OTN will allow us virtually unlimited connectivity in terms of the number of sites that can participate in our Videoconference workshop series. For this reason, registrations will take on a different flavour than in the past. Please see the page entitled “Registration” within the booklet for instructions.

Once again workshops will be approximately 2-3 hours in length, unless otherwise stated. Videoconference workshops have been tailored to smaller audiences. Therefore, space is limited so register early to avoid disappointment.  For this year’s series, we will not be charging a registration fee.
