Rounded Rectangle: President’s Message

Greetings to everyone for 2009

It’s been a while since our last newsletter, and we apologize for that. However the “rumors of our death are greatly exaggerated”. Once the Whiteman’s dam project was completed, we decided to step back, take a breather and regroup. We are now rejuvenated and raring to go.

Our chapter has been together for more than five years. We started life in the spring of 2004 and for a relatively small group we have accomplished a great deal. So far we have raised a total of $60,000.00 through the work of council members, and virtually all of it has gone directly to conservation projects. We are now well established in this area and known to many as a great resource. We all feel a responsibility to keep this chapter going because the resources we provide are greatly needed.

We have never had a problem finding projects. They come to us. Our role has been mostly to oversee the work, represent Trout Unlimited Canada, and raise funds. This work continues as you will see as you read on.

Finally, at the last council meeting, we decided that the Vice-President and I would switch positions. Change is a good thing, and I know that Mary Lou is more than capable, and well situated to take us forward. I would like to thank our membership and our current and past Executive Council members for their support over the past five years. As always, if you have any questions, or would like to participate in any of our projects or work days, please do not hesitate to contact any member of the council.

Cheers,

Dave Chapman
