Weekends are the primary focus of Marriage Encounter. Couples are invited to attend a Marriage Encounter weekend. Our weekends have been held at the Arden Park Inn, a five-star hotel in Stratford, Ontario.

Weekends typically begin at 8 p.m. on a Friday evening. Couples are asked to arrive by 7:30 p.m., so that they can be registered by Marriage Encounter volunteers, and check in to the hotel.

All meals and other needs are looked after by hotel staff and ME volunteers, so that a couple can focus entirely on each other for the entire weekend. The weekend is broken up into modules, in which there is a group presentation, private time without your spouse for reflection on the presentation, then time with your spouse to share your reflections, after which comes the next module.

We emphasize that this is a "work" weekend. There is some time alloted for relaxation, but the main focus is on renewing, revitalizing, strengthening, and enjoying the very personal relationship of each couple without any outside distractions.

When you attend a Marriage Encounter weekend, you will almost certainly be tired, exhiliarated, and more in love with your spouse than before the weekend.
