Orchestra London names new music director CBC RADIO ARTS LONDON, Ont. - Timothy Vernon has been hired as the new music director and conductor of Orchestra London. However, there's a catch. The orchestra must meet its fundraising goal of $330,000 by the end of May. Otherwise, Orchestra London will be out of business and Vernon out of a job. Vernon says the orchestra can meet the financial deadline. He thinks Orchestra London is on the verge of a rebirth. Vernon has been the artistic director of Pacific Opera Victoria since its inception in 1980.
