Canadian Musicians Employment Status Archive LONDON FREE PRESS Wednesday April 5, 2000
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Newspaper hits sour note Onward and Upward, the London Free Press's special March 31 supplement celebrating life in the Forest City, took a downward spiral as far as I am concerned. In the section on The Good Life, readers were promised features on London's "great music, first-class theatre," etc. Since I am especially interested in the local music scene, I looked forward to reading stories on Orchestra London, the Gerald Fagan Singers, the London Fanshawe Symphonic Chorus and many others, but to my dismay I came up empty. The Grand Theatre and the museums certainly play a vital role in the cultural life of our city, but to ignore London's outstanding music groups was a grievous oversight.
