London Musicians' Association
February 4, 2000
Mr. David Stelpstra
Dear Mr. Stelpstra: RE: Your letter of February 3, 2000 It appears necessary to remind you at this time that Orchestra London is party to a collective agreement with the London Musicians' Association. This agreement is currently in full force and effect. Neither party may unilaterally impose different terms and conditions without the consent of the other party. Your letter declares and explains in detail the intent of Orchestra London to extract pay concessions from full time and part time musicians in February and March 2000 as well as from extra musicians for the remainder of the current season. This is a clear statement of intent to violate Articles IV(2) and V(l) and any other related articles in the agreement. The London Musicians' Association most emphatically does not agree to these or any other concessions or amendments to the agreement. The Local will be grieving such violation forthwith if this "decision" of the Board of Directors is implemented.
Sincerely;
Paul Sharpe C.C. Peter Audet OLPA
