Orchestra London offers the opportunity to learn

We are concerned about the future of Orchestra London. Every year, our whole school goes to a concert and we look forward to it. We are learning about many composers of many generations and Orchestra London keeps that music alive. Without them, the classical side of music would not be what it could and should be.

It has been said a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, a live performance by a professional orchestra does the same for music students in this city. We are worried the next generation of kids won't get the "orchestra" experience.

Hearing a professional orchestra can affect a kid's future. They help us hear and see the possibilities for the instruments we will be playing in class. They offer more learning opportunities because they let us see and hear instruments that will not be offered to us.

London needs to be more than a city that is based on sports. In school, we are taught that we need a balance between sports, academics and the arts. It is confusing to see our city not practising that balance. We need this mix to appeal to more people.

We would invite everyone in the city, as well as those on city council, to support Orchestra London. Send a donation to the Orchestra London box office and go to a concert. You'll really like it.
